As this posts, I'm sleeping in and probably a little sunburned:) Today's post is on orange and since we covered the color theory yesterday, you probably have already guessed which colors go well with orange. If you want spicy, add in analogous reds and yellows. If you want to compliment it, go with purple. Here's a few more simple color models to help you when looking at color:

These terms refer to color groups or types:
primary colors
Primary Colors: Colors at their basic essence; those colors that cannot be created by mixing others.
secondary colors
Secondary Colors: Those colors achieved by a mixture of two primaries.
tertiary colors
Tertiary Colors: Those colors achieved by a mixture of primary and secondary hues.
complementary colors - red and green
Complementary Colors: Those colors located opposite each other on a color wheel.
analogous colors
Analogous Colors: Those colors located close together on a color wheel.

Here's some of my favorite pics of orange:

  1. These are beautiful! I've always been leery to use orange, but these make it look almost like a safe color because they are so well done. I can't wait to see the yellows tomorrow!
